I never get tired of making these cute ice skates. They have become a yearly tradition. As soon as I have started the first pair of skates I know the holiday season has begun. They remind me of the first year all the cousins received used ice skates for Christmas. We had so much fun at the farm skating on the frozen pond. Well almost frozen. My dad had to cut the toes out of his skates because they were just a wee bit small. After that all was good!
Exciting news. My new shop and remodel is getting closer to completion. I'm looking forward to the day when I can once again find all my tools and supplies I need for creating "one of a kind" articles. It's been a long time coming and will be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas for the first project in my new place I'd love to hear them.
I made this cute little purse recently. It was inspired by summer fun and sunshine! It is a lemon yellow fold over clutch. I fell in love with this beautiful soft leather the moment I touched it. Isn't it so bright and happy looking?
So excited to get together with my friends and artists from Lake Tahoe for a Holiday Open House. We have been having fun getting ready for the big night making a lot of new items. Veronica Lichter artist has some beautiful painted ornaments and Julie Water Drop Jewels has wonderful jewelry. Here are a few of mandolin and guitar straps I made for the event. I love the strength of these straps and they are so colorful!
Is it just me or does it seem like after Halloween the days just fly by. I've been trying to keep up with posting new items on Etsy and making new items as well as mailing out sold packages. Sometimes this one women show is difficult. Lists, lists, lists and more lists are what keeps me more focused (and a little meditation). So, as my list indicates, I will be outdoors shooting photos of new products before the weather changes again. Hope your day is productive!
Had a little setback with my photo editing and tagging. I tried to update my computer and lost Picasa. I have been using Picasa for a long time and had it figured out. I couldn't download it. Picasa has been removed and replaced with Google Photos. So bummed. Now it looks like I will have to spend hours learning new software. Ugh. If anyone knows of a good photo editing program I should use please let me know. What I loved about Picasa was that I could add my keyword tags to the photos. I haven't found anything like that yet.
In the meantime here is a little something I made recently using Pendleton fabric and leather. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Here are a few Patriotic items I've made with beads and leather. I love Red, White and Blue! Wishing you a fun safe 4TH OF JULY! Happy Independence Day!
It's a busy time of year with Father's Day just around the corner. And my sister's and I have been planning a special birthday party for my dad too! Whew! Somehow I have managed to make a few items even with all that. I have made some new bags, a bicycle bag and a few ankle bracelets. Now to find the time to take pictures and get them posted in my Etsy Shop. I still find so much inspiration everywhere I look. When it seems I need to slow down I get the paddleboard out and away I go. It is a Bliss Tahoe SUP. It is beautiful and there is nothing more calming than looking down at the water and reading "Bliss" on my board. Then it's back to the shop and I'm ready to go. I hope you are having a wonderful summer and remember to get out and enjoy it. Until next time take care!
When I started this business I jumped in without a plan. Let me tell you it's a good idea to have a name of some kind before you start. I signed up with Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter you name it (ha!). The problem was that I signed in with a different name everywhere I went. Some places my name was too long other places it was already taken. Yikes! So, today I have been trying to get somewhat close in my branding (so to speak). The thing is it created a "domino effect" on every site. So I will apologize right now if a link isn't working. Thanks for your patience. I know first hand that it's hard to curb the excitement of a new adventure, but if you can... take my advice and find your brand first! That's all for now. I have some link work to do.
